Last few months, I have been working on a new fiction writing project, — murder mystery novel series with the Detective Charlène Blanchet of Conemaraville Police Service as the protagonist.

Conemaraville is a major city on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, and serves as the regional capital. The name comes from Conamara Chaos, the region in the middle of which the city is located.

Events described in these series happen in a distant future when people have achieved agelessness. Charlène herself is 120 years young. Born and grown up in Conemaraville, in a pastry-cook Charl and barista Agnes’s family. For nearly a century have served in armed forces, been a space ship pilot and commander.

Reader’s first meeting with Charlène is the book Antichrist, part I.

Wenilo Weinmann, a geneticist dedicated to Alzheimer’s research, is murdered by a stiletto thrust into his heart. Detangling clues of the crime soon reveals that behind it is a serial killer aiming at scientists involved with longevity and agelessness research.

Together with Detective Blanchet, the reader will examine humanity’s darkest secrets, as well as ethical dilemmas of transhumanism. Is immortality provided by genetic engineering enough to become a superhuman? Is becoming a superhuman actually an aim worth reaching for? Or is the urge for immortality driven by human hubris?
